Dan
Anyone who has ventured into the musical underbelly of good ol' PTown has likely run into Jim Bull which also means they probably have a Jim Bull story. Mine is how he rescued me from New York and drove me back to Portland when 9/11 grounded all the flights. We dashed across the country from Niagara to the Badlands in a little oil burner affectionately known as the Exxon Valdez. What ensued was a cross country adventure that surely would have made Hunter S. proud.
Well, Jim needs help coping with the expenses of recently diagnosed throat cancer. And although the prognosis is good and curable, I am sure that Jim is not up to his full earning potential. I am sure it's a lot easier to kick cancer's ass when you're not worried about your rent.
What we can do is attend this benefit on April 4th at the Alberta Rose Theater. This show features, well, just about everyone. And don't just buy your ticket either. You could give an extra buck or an extra $50 or more. And if you can't go, just send your dough.
My message to Jim: I love you, buddy. I'll do what I can and I'll see you at the show.
